Fun Facts

  1. The chicks are ready to fledge between 50-60 days from hatching.
  2. Avocado can be poisonous to these birds by causing heart and liver failure.
  3. Have the capability of learning to talk but their speech is not clear as some of the larger parrotts e.g. African grey.
  4. Similar to most parakeets normally they continue to breed with the same partner year after year (monogamous).
  5.  They are well known as being noisy birds.
