Fun Facts
- Both the males and the females take care of their offspring which are ready to fledge between 60-75 days after hatching.
- Normally they continue to breed with the same partner throughout their life (monogamous) and they mate between July and March.
- The males are larger than females but quite similar and are normally distinguished by their sound where that of males is much stronger and louder than that of females.
- They do not fly much but when they do, they fly with other geese and form the letter V or fly in a long line.
- The Egyptian geese are a cross breed between geese and ducks (shelduck) and have features of both.
